Tomcats win at home!

Middleweight= 40 vs Berwyn= 13

The Tomcats Middleweight Big 10 Team has been working hard in practice for the past four weeks, and it all started to pay off at their home opener on Sunday, as they win in convincing fashion over Berwyn, 40-13.  It was a total team effort, as everyone contributed to the win.  The offense was firing on all cylinders, and it all started in the trenches with the offensive line. Jaime Huerta, Sam Gonzalez IV, Julian Olivas, Julian Gonzalez, Ruben Acosta, Remond Brown Jr. and Julian Castaneda, battled hard against the Berwyn defense, and opened up running lanes for the backs.  Oscar Rodriguez took a Hand off, and rumbled 50 yards for the touchdown to open up the scoring.  Izreal Tinder turned on the jets, and found the endzone twice, on runs of 35 and 30 yards.  Jordan Griffin took one to the house on a 43 yard sweep. Luis Garcia Jr. and Remond Brown Jr. worked the middle of the field keeping the Berwyn  Defense on their heels. The defense was fierce all day, stuffing the Berwyn offense. Giovanni Perez, Tristan Gilmore, and Allesandro Aban , could not be stopped, and spent the entire afternoon making plays against the Berwyn Offense.  David Langford, Keven McIntosh, and Nate Estrella each came up with big tackles, stopping the Berwyn ball carrier in his tracks.  The Tomcat Middleweight Big 10 Team protected their home field, and made it a fun day for all the players, coaches, and families!!  They'll get back to work this week, in preparation for their next game against the Riverside Brookfield Bulldogs.
